It was so nice speaking with you earlier. I certainly hope that we get to play part of your wedding, I know that we can create beautiful images together and just like we discussed
Most importantly – we will create beautiful images naturally, both in the portrait portion as well as all the meaningful moments that will make your wedding special and uniquely yours. You can relax and enjoy the day to the fullest while we take care of capturing the joy, the fun, the details – all of it.
I truly believe that our role at your (and every) wedding is to be your memory and we always try to capture moments that will remind you of how you were feeling when they were taken while at the same time giving a meaningful glimpse into the day for anybody who may not have been there. We preserve time and let you slow down the day through images at any time after
We have a few tricks up our sleeve to make sure that everything on the wedding day will run smoothly.
Here are some concerns I hear frequently about working with other photogrpahers and how we handle them:
“We won’t have enough time to spend with our friends and families”
We’ll make sure that we discuss all the photos that are important in advance and work out a timeline for the portrait period together. That way, all the posed photos get done quickly but without rushing. Even this part will be a fun and enjoyable part of the day for everybody participating.
“we dont want our wedding to feel like a photoshoot, with too many cameras or lights making us and our guests self-concious”
Rest assured that all of our lights are small and non-obtrusive and as I had mentioned, we really don’t want guests to be aware of us whenever possible. Being a photo/video ninja is how we get the most amazing and intimate natural photos
“We don’t want to wait for weeks or months for our photos and video”
Another crucial part of why clients are so happy with us at the end of the night (and even more so after they get their full set of images) is that our on-site editor will edit and retouch the photos as we shoot throughout the night. With this, we will have a selection of 30-100 photos ready for you at the end of the weekend (they are essentially ready at the end of the day, but I like to go through them one more time in case they need adjustments or if something important happened at the very end).
2-4 weeks before weddingLonger consultation on phone or in person discussing and advice on wedding day details relating to photography: specific timeline, shot list, family dynamics, expectations. We will discuss what matters to the clients, how they see themselves as a couple and how they envision the day to unfold. It is also helpful to have suggestions from parents and clients for specific groups and combinations not to be missed. Final balance is due at this time.
Up to 10 hours of photography. Photographer to take photos as specified previously and according to timeline.
Preparation. These photos will be mainly journalistic capturing the essence of the preparation as well as details as available such as invitations, wedding bands, flowers, and dress.
Formal pictures. We aim for jaw dropping portraits, especially of the couple, but also of any other groups. We will discuss expectations and timing beforehand to be sure to have the time needed for beautiful, deliberate and personal portraits and tableaus. If the time will be less than initially agreed on, some of the combinations may not be able to be taken during this time. Photographer will make every effort to catch up later during the day but this cannot be guaranteed.
Ceremony. Photographer will make every effort to capture the ceremony in every detail as well as true emotions throughout the ceremony from many angles of both the couple as well as their attendants and guests. Photographer will be low-key and will try to not be between ceremony and guests whenever possible. Photographer will work within the parameters (if any) given by venue or officiant. If there are restrictions such as specific locations only or restrictions to the use of flash, the range and quantity of the pictures may reflect this.
Reception. Photographer will capture every moment as it happens trying to interfere as little as possible. The aim is to create a record of the joy and fun and energy of the night. This can be the time to catch up on some group photos that where missed earlier and all combinations of guests that where not there before.
After the weddingWe will edit and retouch all of the photos extensively to make them look their best. There will be a mix of black-and-white and color photos. Images will be adjusted for contrast, color balance, composition and cropping. We will also make every effort to ensure that everybody in the photos looks their best.
The videographer will be low key and document all that is happening without much interference. Our style here is just as it is for photography: low key, relaxed and unobtrusive. You will receive a short 3-5 minute long highlight film as well as a longer movie to capture the full day. The length of the longer film will be discussed between us to make sure you get the movie that is perfect for you.
Clients will receive all retouched images as high resolution image files as well as a web gallery to view images and to order prints. The website will only be shared with clients to distribute to their friends and families. Turnaround time for the full set of retouched images is generally 2-3 weeks. Custom made albums can also be chosen as an additional package. Albums will be designed by André together with client.
The Fee on this contract is reduced. Because of this, no specific photographer has been assigned to photograph the wedding, yet. One of Andre Maier’s associate photographers (or Andre himself) will be assigned 1 month before the wedding. This is our most popular option. With this, you will be guaranteed an amazing photographer and great experience on the day while we can keep the option of being hired at our full day rate. We all love shooting weddings and are always super happy and grateful when being hired even at a reduced rate (rather than staying home that day).

at the end of the night, every images will have at least 3 backup copies – 2 on the cards and one on my laptop
