Congratulations once again, Skyler and Eli!!!! It was so nice speaking with you earlier.  I certainly hope that we get to play part of your wedding, I know that we can create beautiful images together and just like we discussed

Most importantly – we will create beautiful images naturally, both in the portrait portion as well as all the meaningful moments that will make your wedding special and uniquely yours. You can relax and enjoy the day to the fullest while we take care of capturing the joy, the fun, the details – all of it.

I truly believe that our role at your (and every) wedding is to be your memory and we always try to capture moments that will remind you of how you were feeling when they were taken while at the same time giving a meaningful glimpse into the day for anybody who may not have been there. We preserve time and let you slow down the day through images at any time after

What we do for you

2-4 weeks before wedding:

Longer consultation on phone or in person discussing and advice on wedding day details relating to photography: specific timeline, shot list, family dynamics, expectations. We will discuss what matters to the clients, how they see themselves as a couple and how they envision the day to unfold. It is also helpful to have suggestions from parents and clients for specific groups and combinations not to be missed. Final balance is due at this time.

Wedding day

Up to 10 hours of photography. Photographer to take photos as specified previously and according to timeline. Preparation. These photos will be mainly journalistic capturing the essence of the preparation as well as details as available such as invitations, wedding bands, flowers, and dress. Formal pictures. We aim for jaw dropping portraits, especially of the couple, but also of any other groups. We will discuss expectations and timing beforehand to be sure to have the time needed for beautiful, deliberate and personal portraits and tableaus. If the time will be less than initially agreed on, some of the combinations may not be able to be taken during this time. Photographer will make every effort to catch up later during the day but this cannot be guaranteed. Ceremony. Photographer will make every effort to capture the ceremony in every detail as well as true emotions throughout the ceremony from many angles of both the couple as well as their attendants and guests. Photographer will be low-key and will try to not be between ceremony and guests whenever possible. Photographer will work within the parameters (if any) given by venue or officiant. If there are restrictions such as specific locations only or restrictions to the use of flash, the range and quantity of the pictures may reflect this. Reception. Photographer will capture every moment as it happens trying to interfere as little as possible. The aim is to create a record of the joy and fun and energy of the night. This can be the time to catch up on some group photos that where missed earlier and all combinations of guests that where not there before.

post wedding

We will edit and retouch all of the photos extensively to make them look their best. There will be a mix of black-and-white and color photos. Images will be adjusted for contrast, color balance, composition and cropping. We will also make every effort to ensure that everybody in the photos looks their best.

Deliverables

Clients will receive all retouched images as high resolution image files as well as a web gallery to view images and to order prints. The website will only be shared with clients to distribute to their friends and families. Turnaround time for the full set of retouched images is generally 3-4 weeks. On very rare occasions it can be up to 8 weeks during very busy times. Custom made albums can also be chosen as an additional package. Albums will be designed by André together with client.

reduced fee contract

The Fee on this contract is reduced. Because of this, no specific photographer has been assigned to photograph the wedding, yet. One of Andre Maier’s associate photographers (or Andre himself) will be assigned 1 month before the wedding. This is our most popular option. With this, you will be guaranteed an amazing photographer and great experience on the day while we can keep the option of being hired at our full day rate. We all love shooting weddings and are always super happy and grateful when being hired even at a reduced rate (rather than staying home that day).

optional extras

here are some possible add-ons. They can be chosen with signing a contract or added on anytime closer to the date. No need to lock any of these in right away if you are not sure yet.

engagement shoot

We can schedule an optional engagement photo shoot. 1-2 hours of photography to get to know each other and to get used to being photographed. The purpose of the shoot is to get natural relaxed photos of the couple as well as a few formal and posed images that can be used for announcements or newspapers. Location can be anywhere in New York City to be arranged together. Meaningful locations to the couple are usually best. Clients will receive edited and retouched High Resolution image files and a website for sharing and/or print ordering

videography

Videographer will be low key and beatifully document all that is happening without much interference. Most couples get a highlight edit (3-6 minutes) with pieces of each part of the day in the film as well as a long film covering the full day. You can see sample videos in the "video" section in the menu at the top of this page.

professional portrait studio booth

Our professional portrait photographer will help guests pose alone or in groups, to create beautifully lit professional portraits similar in style to Vanity Fair covers. The photos will also become part of your wedding website online. We can help suggest backdrop décor and posing aids (chairs/stools, etc). Comes with a photographer and assistant.

André Maier’s path that led to a thriving career in wedding photography took him not only from country to country, but also from discipline to discipline. From Chemistry to Molecular Biology studies at King’s College London, he eventually dedicated himself to his passion — photography — at the prestigious London College of Printing. Before long André’s relaxed and creative photojournalism was featured in magazines and he had the opportunity to photograph many extraordinary events and people, including the Dalai Lama.

The transition to wedding photography was seamless thanks to André’s natural curiosity, serenity, and ability to make his subjects look and feel like the best version of themselves. At weddings, he is a covert observer, capturing personalities and interactions. This is not in-your-face wedding photography. Ultimately, André’s shooting style is comprehensive and unprompted. Every photo tells a story – the real story of one of the most important days in a couple’s life.

We are very mellow,  gently directing during portraits when needed and not trying to run the show otherwise.  With that we become a calming influence on the couple, their attendants, and the guests.

André lives with his wife (artist Sylvia Maier), their two sons, and two labrador retrievers and they divide their time between Brooklyn, New York City and Los Angeles

*** André’s co-photographers have each been handpicked because their photography styles, personalities, and philosophies closely mirror his own. As wedding photographers, they are as calm and unobtrusive as they are skilled and experienced. Each has trained and shot alongside André for years. With any one of our photographers, couples can access the same relaxed, unscripted, and beautiful wedding photography.

Liability
Photographer’s responsibility and liability is limited to the return of all payments received. Under no circumstance is photographer responsible for any payments above the amount paid by clients.  

Copyright/Archiving of image files 
  Photographer reserves the right to use any of the photos for promotional purposes such as portfolios in office, social media, websites and online and print magazines. Copyright is shared between client and photographer. Client has the rights to use the photos whichever way they see fit with no restriction on use or time.  
With delivery of the high resolution image files, client will be responsible for keeping and backing up all image files. Photographer will no longer be responsible for maintaining backups or archives, although we always will make several backup copies and will make every effort to preserve all images in several locations.  

Other
  Fee is reduced.  Because of this, no specific photographer has been assigned to photograph the wedding, yet.  One of Andre Maier’s associate photographers (or Andre himself) will be assigned 1 month before the wedding  
non-refundable retainer required for final reservation of services  
Reschedule/force majeure: Retainer may be applied to new wedding date if within 12 months of original date.   New date within 24 months: 50% of retainer applied. More than 24 months/cancellation:  retainer non-refundable.  
All photos remain property of the photographer until full payment of all fees.  
If client fails to pay the amounts due within one week of due date the contract will be voided.  
Prices are subject to change until both parties have signed this agreement.  
Sales Tax will be collected for photos delivered within the state of New York.  
No expenses other than those listed are expected, albums are not included unless album package is chosen
